Felix joined the firm in 2015, after having practiced for the past eleven years mostly in East Texas.  He currently handles civil litigation, trial, and appellate matters for the firm.  Felix is passionate about his courtroom advocacy.  He has been rated as "Distinguished" by Martindale-Hubbell, an independent attorney rating service.  He has been rated as "Superb" by Avvo, another independent attorney rating service.  Finally in 2013, 2014 and 2015, Felix was selected as one of the "Top 100 Trial Lawyers" in his region by The National Trial Lawyers, and invitation-only organization for lawyers.

Felix received a Bachelor of Arts in History from Georgia Southern University in 2000.  While at Georgia Southern, Felix enrolled in the Order of Omega academic honor fraternity.  He was also the recipient of the Dorman, Dwyer, HOPE and Regents scholarships.  He then attended the Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University, receiving a Juris Doctor (J.D.) in 2003.  While at SMU, Felix was named 2002-2003 Outstanding Advocate of the Year by the Dedman School of Law Board of Advocates.  He was enrolled in the Order of Barristers, a courtroom-advocacy honor society.  Felix also received awards for writing a national best brief and competition best brief, respectively, in the 2002 National Criminal Procedure Tournament and the 2002 Howey & Sweeney Appellate Advocacy Competition.  Further, he was a national finalist and competition finalist, respectively, in these same competitions.  Finally, he was a regional finalist in the 2003 American Bar Association National Appellate Advocacy Competition.

After law school, Felix began his legal career as an associate in the civil litigation section of an East Texas law firm.  During this time, he was involved in a wide variety of personal injury and wrongful death lawsuits.  This included cases in federal and state courts, and in venues such as Arizona, Illinois, South Dakota, Texas and Wyoming.  In 2006, Felix left his firm to serve as a staff attorney with the Twelfth Court of Appeals.  In 2010, Felix left the Twelfth Court to resume private practice, as a partner at his former firm.  He also began handling appeals.  During his time in private practice, Felix has also worked with three law firms to review their criteria for evaluating cases and methodologies for handling cases.  He has also overseen the substantial overhaul of one firm's pleadings and discovery forms.

Felix is married and is the father of three daughters.  In addition spending time with his family, he is an avid nonfiction reader.  He is also an active member of his church.  Felix has previously served as a parish council member, alter server, and religious education teacher.  Felix is a Fourth Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus.  Felix is also the captain of a trivia team that competes in an annual trivia competition in Tyler, Texas.  His team has been the competition champions two times out of the last five years, placing second two other times.
