Our Legal Team

John Guerra was born in McAllen, Texas in April 1964.  He was raised on his family's cattle ranch in Starr County, Texas.  He interned at the firm in 1987 and became an associate in 1989.  He became a shareholder in 1994 and President in 1996.  He now manages its business as a member of the executive committee in addition to handling a full docket of cases.

John has always enjoyed hunting and fishing.  Although he has fished the bays and deep seas of Texas, he has also fished for king salmon and halibut in Alaska as well as for walleye and northern pike in Canada.  He grew up hunting in South Texas, but has also hunted in upstate New York, and will be hunting in Montana this Fall.

He is an avid road cyclist, logging 4000-5000 miles annually.  He has participated in charity events such as the MS150, the Tour de Cure, and the Hotter Than Hell 100 (a single day 100 mile ride in 100 degree weather).

John has been married for 12 years to his wife, Donna, and they have two young boys, Matthew (age 3) and Michael (age 2).
